Another great emulator for symbian is VNes. With this emulator, you can play any Nintendo roms in your symbian based handphone. Basically all of this emulator almost the same as picodrive which we already discussed in this blog. You must install emulator program first in your handphone before you can run any Nintendo roms, so just download this emulator (in rar format) and install it first.

After you've installed VNes, just copy your Nintendo roms to your memory card, and run this VNes to load rom.
You can set the screen size, the orientation and configure the keys as well. Much like picodrive.
If you wish to download Nintendo roms, just google it. Though many websites have these old games, and I don't know whether you can download this legally.

Recently, my computer has been attacked by ..well...malware. The symptom is suddenly my task manager reach 100% for a long time without any process running. As you should know, when your task manager reached its peak, your application, program, etc will run really really slow.
I had installed Kaspersky and quickly run update and scan for any kind of suspicious activities, guess what. None been found, I still suspected there is a program acted as virus inside my memory.
I remembered Malwarebytes since this program specialized into recognizing malware, or backdoor activities. I installed it , and update it, and run quick scan for. In few minutes, I got myself 3 backdoor trojan, one of these I remembered named lssa.exe.
As recommendation, if you've installed any antivirus software in your computer, I suggest you to include this in your security program. Malwarebytes is the best anti malware program to detect any suspicious, backdoor, trojan, etc in your computer that perhaps your best antivirus couldn't detect.

First click Update tab and do update before you do the scan process (actually before the installation finished, you have options to choose whether you wish to update the database or not. But if you choose to update this after installation then you pick the step 1 shown in picture).
It is RECOMMENDED to update this before you run any scanning since every single day malware keeps renew.
After that, choose Quick Scan as start and click Scan (2) to begin process.

Visual Basic as the most popular programming language can be used to design and program some magnificent program, back in high school. I learned VB, while I am not a very good programmer, while some of my friends learned how to create business or accounting software which I didn't like, I try to master my VB in logical and gaming. Some of my programs I made was Scrabble. Basically some of modules such as searching algorithm,history moves, etc was not my original composed. But the interface, and backbone of this program was original my design. I've uploaded this source code to pscode a long time ago, and I think I like to share this with you guys.

Today is Valentine's day, once again happy valentine day.

Back in 1990s, Nintendo64 was revolutionary console when Super Mario Bros in Nintendo transformed into Mario64. The little plumber man from Italy who only able to jump, shoot, walk to left and right, became 'still' little plumber man now able to dodge, throw, fly, explore, etc (you name it). But now, if you want to play Nintendo64, it is very hard to find the console (maybe your friend still own it).
But with Project64, you can play Nintendo64 in your CPU. This is emulator specifically run Nintendo64 games. Some are emulated really well, some still got glitch. To download this emulator. Please click here

After you downloaded it, you must install it to your computer, and the screen will look like this.

If you have N64 roms in your harddrive, then point the directory/folder of your N64 roms by choosing, click File->Choose ROM Directory. After that, the screen will show the games inside your chosen folder.


Then just choose which games you want to play, and voila, there you have it. Even though you still have options to set configuration such as
video, audio and input. But I recommend you no to change it since it is default setting, unless you pretty sure about your computer setting to match the configurations. But I strongly you played this emulator on Pentium4, with RAM at least 512MB and graphic card 64MB installed (whether it is shared or VGA card).
To see the button configuration for your keyboard or to change it. Just go to Options->Configure Controller Plugin. You also can use cheats for some of games you played. Just press Ctrl+C to show cheats list and mark which one to activate.

I created this posting especially for my friend Chandra Sutanto (ehem). He asked me about how to put Picodrive on his E71 and played Sega Games,back in high school, me and Chandra liked this game,it's called Alien3 on Sega Megadrive. So now,I am going to show how to put Sega Games on his E71, I don't own E71, so I try this on my N82, and I hope Chandra will comprehend this.

I am going to show step by step.
1. Prepare the USB Cable to transfer data and off course the handphone.
2. Download Picodrive from here. Picodrive
3. Download Alien3 rom from here. ALIEN3
4. Note: If you never know about Rapidshare. Just choose Free Download, and follow the instructions.
5. Extract the ALIEN3.zip by right click on the file you've downloaded and choose Extract Zip.
6. Now you have two files : Picodrive.sis and Alien3.bin
7. Plug your handphone using USB cable, and choose Mass Storage or Transfer file or whatever shown in your handphone to make your memory external become flash disk.
8. Wait for a moment, and you will have new drive in your My Computer. And this thing will act like flash disk.
9. Copy both of those files into your memory card much like how you copy files into your flash disk.
10. Unplug your cable, and go to your File Manager in your handphone, and install Picodrive.sis
11. After you installed it, you will get Picodrive application in your Application folder or My Own folder (depend on what type of your Nokia)
12. Run Picodrive and choose Load ROM, and go to where your Alien3 ROM is placed.
13. There you have it. If you want to go to main menu of Picodrive, just press C or Delete symbol in your keypad.

I hope you understand this,Chandra, and I think you will not finish this game just like you couldn't back in high school.

A few days ago, my friend ask me to help her install laptop, Acer Aspire One (Intel Atom,Display 10" maybe, blah blah..), and I say yes. So I took the laptop home,and try to put my cd installation Windows XP, and guess what. I can't find the CD-ROM, that laptop didn't have CD tray. I kinda blank for a moment, my mind spinning around, should I used External CD-ROM ? Or try to grab the harddisk, or using flash disk ?
Then I remembered article about using Flashdisk as bootable to install Windows XP, I remembered the software called HP Storage USB Format Utility, but guess what, all I know that software only capable to format your flashdisk and partition it to make it bootable. But still I have to find a way to put my Windows XP into that laptop. Finally, I found that way after researching Google (Thanks Aunt Google).
This posting is purely not mine, so don't thank me.
Things you must have it first :
1. USB Flashdisk with at least 2 GB
2. Windows XP Installation Disk
3. Computer with CD-ROM to make Flashdisk become Windows XP USB Version.

Okay..Here we go..
1. Download Komku right here Rapidshare
2. Run it, and choose Install and you will get extracted files which is : BootSect.exe, PeToUSB, and Usb_Prep8
3. Plug your USB FlashDisk, and goto Komku extracted folder and locate PeToUSB

4. Run this PeToUSB and mark checkbox as picture below

5. Click Start and click Yes to Continue and Yes again to Start Format the USB Flashdisk (if your flashdisk contains any data,before you click Yes, you should backup first, since this procedure will erase all data on your flashdisk).
6. Wait till it finish and click OK, and click finish to close the program.



Now the next step is inserting the Windows XP into flashdisk.
7. Open Windows XP Command Prompt (Click Start->Run->cmd and press Enter), and put your Windows XP CD to your CD drive.

8. Goto folder bootsect, and type as picture shown below (note:I used F: as my flashdisk drive, if you have different drive, then change it).

9. After that, change your folder to usb_prep8
10. Type usb_prep8 and press Enter,
11. You will see something like this..

12. Make sure point (1-Change XP Source Path) point to your cdrom where you put Windows XP Installation CD.
13. Make sure point (2-Change VirtualTempDrive) point to a location where you don't have it in your My Computer, change it to other drive if you have that drive in your My Computer).
14. Make sure point (3-Change Target USB Drive) point to location where your flashdisk drive.
15. After all things set, choose no.4 and press Enter
16. The procedure is copying CD into temp drive and later make an ISO Windows XP onto your flashdisk.
17. When you see any question, just choose YES for any kind questions.
18. Voila (the process takes about 10 - 15 minutes), after that. Put your flashdisk into your new laptop and choose in your BIOS to set the boot order to USB Flashdisk.
19. There you have it, when the options for installation appears

In eighties generation,gamer must know a console called Genesis Megadrive from Sega, with 16-bit capability and competed with Nintendo with its Nintendo 8-bit. Sega at that time won in may ways such as visual, sound, fun factor,and many more.

Load ROM used to load our games that we had put in memory card (for where to get those games, we will discuss this later). Load State used to continue our game that we had saved before (but you need to load ROM first). Configure keys used to configure our keypad in phone to adapt ourself if the configuration not suitable with what we want.
Set screen if you wish to change the screen to portrait or landscape mode.And if you wish to have cheat then you can input the GameGenie code.Default key to operate in Picodrive is C / Backspace.

Handphone with Symbian operating system has feature to be installed instant messaging application that can be used to chat with your friends around the world. Yes, chatting means you can used this to chat just like you did with your computer (usually people used Yahoo or MSN. These two IM (Instant Messaging) perhaps the most popular right now. For handphone user with Symbian can install Slick or eBuddy.
These applications both have weakness and advantages as IM, but still as freeware, why don't we just try it.

eBuddy is another IM application that can be installed on your handphone, this application has easy fast access to your account (based on my experience) maybe better than Slick in logging speed. Another feature is jump from one window chat to another is easier and better. Features that eBuddy offers such as nudge, emoticons, send picture and many more is one of many advantages that makes this application can compete with others.
eBuddy with version 1.11 and you can get this at eBuddy. One of the disadvantage using eBuddy is when you chat, your history words with multiple lines will be shorten by eBuddy (even I though this could be its advantage).

eBuddy as freeware with Java based that makes support for more handphone, that different with Slick only support for Symbian and Windows Mobile. But despite their weakness or advantages, the decision still in user hand which application is the best. Even though I installed both in my handphone for alternatives.

Every computer needs antivirus, Kaspersky is one of them that able to prevent any kind of harm to computer such as malware, virus, hidden program, keylogger, etc. The newest version is 2009, along with Kasperky Internet Security as firewall.
Installation of Kaspersky as usual with other software requires activation,since this is commercial software (not freeware), so activation required to use this software.

Common activation is choose the 'Using Key File', the key for activation can be found at kavkiskey , this website offers keys for Kaspersky (note: this website has been blocked by Kaspersky, to open the website, you must set Kaspersky first not to scan url. In setting section, unmark Enable Online Security).

Next step, you can grab the key to activate Kaspersky, sometimes the key inputted will be recognized as blacklisted key, then you can grab the newer key in that website. You must delete the older key before you can input the newer key.

A lot of games can be played among platforms, example: Nintendo games can be emulated to be played on other platform such as CPU, and that's what we called Emulator. Usually emulation requires higher specification for processor to process since emulation 'mimic' other platform.
Some emulators basically works better on CPU, since CPU easier to emulate other platform for its programming language. Some consoles that can be emulated so far are : Nintendo (NES), Sega (Megadrive), Sega CD, Super Nintendo (SNES), Nintendo 64 (N64), Gameboy, Gameboy Color, MAME (Arcade), Playstation and many more. All these emulator and platform have been tested by me and worked like a charm.
